5-five-dollar-billI was surprised when I googled chore charts and found that I was letting my daughter off a little too easy. Out of guilt I was doing all the major cleaning on the weekend when she goes to her fathers house, so regularly when she is home, only light cleaning was being done.

Then it occured to me, one day she too will be living on her own like her brothers and she will have to have the willpower to clean on her own, She will need to know how to clean. This idea made me change a few things. Another plus is that her chore chart helps with her allowance. It is just like a job. If she does things like feed the animals, walk the dog, take her homework out and begin without being told to, then she gets paid on payday which is usually Friday at our house. If she doesn’t do one of these tasks, she doesn’t earn as much for the week and is deducted for items she doesn’t do. I actually got this idea from a girlfriend of mine who was telling me one day of payday at her house. Both of her children looked forward to payday just as adults do and I loved the idea so much that I had to incorporate it into our household.

I am a single parent of three wonderful children. Two boys who are grown and live out on their own and a teenage daughter at home. I have gone through a lot of drama with divorce and sickness- just to start, but have found my way out of the shadows and I am ready to motivate and empower women with what I have learned. Being unqualified is exactly what makes me qualified. I work full time in the corporate world, I'm a parent, and I resell products on several different online platforms. Last, but the most important, I am a Christ follower at Church By The Glades.
